2020 Ducati Panigale 1299 R Final Edition

With the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition, Ducati celebrates its twin cylinder engine that characterizes the history of the World Superbike Championship. From the first victory of Marco Lucchinelli with the 851 in 1988 in the first race in the history of the world champion Superbike, to 2017 with the victories of Chaz Davis and the Marco Melandri on R Panigale, the twin cylinder of Borgo Panigale was always the highest performer of the Supercars tournament.

The Panigale V4 replaces the iconic 1299 at the top of the Ducati range, doing so by enhancing performance so that riders of all skill levels can enjoy endless fun and excitement. The Panigale V4 has developed in close collaboration with Ducati Corse, drawing directly on the know-how and technology of the racing world to provide a bike road which is the closest thing possible to a motorcycle counterpart.

The 1299 Panigale R is produced in the final edition in a numbered series, unlimited, and represents the perfect combination between a high performance engine and a racing chassis. New Xuh, red rims and titanium exhaust make 1299 panigale R final edition unique, collectible bike.

2020 Ducati Panigale 1299 Specs

The new Panigale V4 is the essence of sport motorcycles in its most exhilarating and pure form: redefined design, new engine, state-of-the-art chassis, and innovative electronics: a blend of Ducati’s technology, style and performance. The new Panigale V4 S Corse is an authentic celebration of the soul racing Ducati, with the exclusive Xuh inspired by the colors of the official Ducati Motorcycle Team.

With the 1299 Panigale R final edition, Ducati praises the engine’s twin-cylinder that has made Superbike the world’s longest history. From the first victory of Marco Lucchinelli on April 3, 1988 with the 851 (in the first ever world championships for modified production models) to win the stunning 2017 by Chaz Davis and Marco Melandri on R Panigale, the Bologna Railway was built by the long-time winner of the SBK. Desmoquattro, Frita Testast, Superquadro: Over three decades, Ducati has gone – designed a twin cylinder 4-valve engine with a demodromic timing from Guo to Guo, the motorbike that made history Superport. Motorcycles that have won at least 330 superbike world championships. From 851 to R panigale – and 888, 916, 996, 998, 999, 1098, 1198 and 1199 in between them – the twin built Bologna have always been a successful track as in the Superport market. Now, the 1299 Panigale R Ultimate Edition pays tribute to the great Ducati Superbike tradition by combining the best ever-engine dual-cylinder performance with the structure of pop-up races created.

Available as a numbered series (but not limited), the 1299 Panigale R Ultimate Edition is a Euro 4 compatible bike with a perfect combination of high-performance engine and very spot-on suspension racing. A branch of the Superleggera engine 1299, and the “final edition” superleggera packs 209 hp * punch at 11,000 rpm and torque of 14.5 kg at 9,000 rpm chassis configuration, instead, it is the same as that on R panigale, with mechanical suspension öhlins and ignite Rake 24 °.

As for the electronics, the 1299 Panigale R Edition features the final Bosch Gauge Special Motion Control (ABS), ABS acquisition, Ducati Driving Control Evo (DWC Evo), Ducati Traction Control Evo (DTC Evo) and Brake Control Engine (EBC). All these systems are set according to the riding mode selection (race, sport and wet), and can be personalized as desired.

The new V4 90-degree engine, based on experience gained in motorcycles where the performance of the four-cylinder desmosi is in the top of its class, has been designed to equip future models Ducati SuperSport. The standard equipment includes the new Panigale V4’s: Ducati power release (DPL), Ducati Quick Switch (dqs) Top / Down Evo, Full LED Flashlight with Daytime Running Light (DRL), Sax Steering damper, .

With 209 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 14.5 kg at 9,000 rpm, the 1299 panigale R Ultimate Edition is, with 1299 superleggera, the Ducati Duo stronger than ever. The Euro 4 compatible “final edition” superquadro engine features a crankshaft with a larger crank pin and balance between tungsten pads. Such as intake exhaust valves, made of titanium con-rods. The diameter pistons are 2 116 mm, instead, as in the superbike engines, you only have two strips and slide on the steel cylinder linings.

The intake valves have a diameter of 48 mm instead of 46.8 mm on 1299 panigale; Exhaust valves have a diameter of 39.5 mm (compared to 38.2 mm on 1299 panigale). The intake and intake exhausts have undergone development accordingly, and improved fluid dynamics are also thanks to the new camshafts that offer improved features and an increased valve lift.

The 1299 Panigale R Ultimate Edition features a clutch with a new slipper and a self-supporting servo system, which led to an increased ‘feel’ and ride stability thanks also to the use of a new forged aluminum clutch clutch. The air intake system utilizes a high-permeability filter, while the throttle body has new openings to throttle the air using a profile designed to improve air flow. The high horn intake has, instead, been optimized for each cylinder head, unlike the Panigale 1299 which has horns of the same length.

Finally, the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has a full titanium akrapovič exhaust with a double high muffler (Euro 4 compatible), just like the one on the official panigale that competes in the world’s premierike.
And 1299 the final edition panigale R carried by the Bosch Measuring Unit. This sends information on the dynamics of the vehicle to ABS acquisition, Ducati Driving Control Evo (DWC) and Ducati Traction Traction Evo (DTC Evo) systems. Automatic system calibration for tire size and engine endpoint ensures optimal performance of Evo DTC, DWC evo and engine brake control (EBC) at all times. All these systems have multiple intervention levels, predetermined according to the mode of ride (race, sport and wet) which can be customized as desired. Moreover, the 1299 Panigale R Edition Ultimate features Ducati Data Analysis + GPS (DDA + GPS) and allows the rider to record lean angles. The completion of an impressive array of electronic devices is the shift-driven steering wheel racing that allows fast DTC, DWC or EBC adjustments during the ride track.

The DTC Evo 1299 Panigale R Edition is based on an ultimate algorithm that ensures faster and more accurate interference. The DTC EVO is equipped with the special Bosch measurement unit, which continuously measures the meager angle and uses it to accurately calculate the required interference level to ensure proper rear wheel rotation (according to the DTC evo level setting).

Moreover, the Evo DTC also works on body throttle valves, spark plugs and advance injections. In all cases that do not require the rapid intervention of the Evo DTC, the use of throttle body valves maintains optimal combustion parameters, ensuring more fluid response and engine control. With the simplest types of traction control, the rear wheel detection system sees the system interfering to keep it in check. When the lesion of the lesion is regenerated the system minimizes the intervention until it occurs again and replicates its role. This results in a graph showing the interference fluctuating around the theoretical “ideal line of intervention” that represents the traction limit. The DTC EVO reduces the size of these oscillations, making the system work closer to the ideal intervention line. This is particularly useful in cases where the grip changes, such as when the rear tires become ballet.

In addition to this enhanced interference precision, when assigned to ‘1’ or ‘2’, DTC EVO adds a new function that allows the bike to be installed on a pre-booked level of experts and positives. Now, when the bike bends more, the rider can use the accelerator to ask for more steering wheel than would be given by the normal intervention level, allowing the bike to pivot around the front wheels and complete the detour line taken. The Evo DTC allows riders to do so while keeping the parameters intact under control, effectively letting the ‘close’ line taken with the rear wheel.
